Why I am the sole photographer at your event

EXCUSE ME!!!

-They’re in my shot.

My hired assistants are skilled photographers who work closely with me. They understand my shooting style, my movements, and my tendencies. They also know where to stand during speeches, the hora, and candle lighting. Unfortunately, zap photographs always seemed to be across from me.

No Grandma!!! Over HERE!!!!!!

-Which camera do we look at?

This was a huge problem during special moments such as the candle-lighting ceremony or the Hamotzi. With multiple cameras pointed at them, most people will try to look at all of them. The result? Someone always looking off-camera at the zap photographer. Grrrrrrrr

UM. DIDN'T WE JUST DO THIS????

-Deja Vu

I love being as unobtrusive as possible while capturing photos of your guests. So you can imagine how frustrating it became hearing “Oh, we just took a photo.” The additional photographer also kills the spontaneity I rely on to get great expressions.

NOT MY PHOTO (GOOGLED 'ZAP PHOTO')

-Bad Photos.  Who took that??

Photography in most venues is challenging. We use techniques to soften the light to best flatter you and your guests. Zap photographers rely on direct-deer-in-the-headlights flash. Sadly, people would think I took the photos displayed on the jumbo screen! Not great for referrals.

Possible alternatives

Now, although zap photographers are restricted from shooting the actual event, I’ve come up with some alternatives if you happen to have a zap photographer in your entertainment package.

-Have the zap photographer mirror the photo booth. Zap photographers can work alongside the photo booth attendant to capture images of the guests having fun at the photo booth.

-Get a step-and-repeat. Just like the Oscars, guests can arrive and take photographs with the zap photographer as they enter.

-Forgo the zap photographer for a mobile photo booth. Guests can dance AND take party pics.

-Work with the entertainment company to collect and display images collected through social media. Using special hashtags, the guests can become the zap photographers! I mean, they already have cameras.
